which software do you use for screen capture and using pen tool. please recommend.
Can I publish a game for free that's made in UE?
I appreciate this video brotha. I really needed this information to make a decision on these licenses
UE announced a month ago: no royalty until you make $1million 🤯
Thank you for making this video. It helped a ton on figuring out what software to use! Also this video was really well made and you explained everything clearly. YouTube needs more people like you!
Nice informative vid ❤️
Could u plz tell me can i use unreal engine free for making some animations for a youtube video?
so if i want to try making a game (just for fun) in unity and im not more than 18 years old is the personal plan the right plan for me? (sorry for my bad english)
I don't know if this has changed since this video was released or maybe you accidentally read it wrong 🙂
But actually the unreal license fee is 5% of gross revenue above $3000 per quarter, not year.
Meaning your gross revenue can potentially be up to $3000 x 4 = $12 000 before you have to pay. Of course it's very unlikely that your revenue will be exactly $3000 each quarter, but you get the idea 🙂
It seems that you haven't enough viewers to interest Godot fans to come and pollute your comments with how this engine is the best, free, open source, bla bla… Yes, it's an awesome tool but you are comparing commercial products licences and putting Godot on the table is irrelevant.
Your video is informative and well documented. Good job.
Something going wrong here. 6:40 you said 3000 gross revenue per year is absolutely wrong. It's PER QUARTER. Check their website please.
Ue4 is the best besides its best features it charge less also understand others problem, cuz they charge only after we can make 3000$ a year where as the others engine is just live or die. Specially game maker studio 1500$ for 1 year what if the person is solo developer and it takes more than a year to complete a game if solo developer that means before a person can develop and earn they need to pay another 1500$ not recommended for poor guy like me. For poor guy like me I recommend unreal Engine 4 which I am currently using. Nice video by the way boss…..
I think Unreal licensing is free for $ 3,000 per quarter. Not year. You will pay what exceeds the $ 3,000 in each calendar quarter. https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/faq
This is without the cost for advertising your game, plus if you need some assets or you require someone to develop those assets that's also mean more expenses. Oh! and I forgot rge income taxes that you will need to pay off.
Great video, highly informative, thank you.
I really appreciate YouTube finally recommend video that is totally awesome. How come you didn't have much more subscribers? You're underrated, instant sub.
Such a informative video,<1k views atm, surprisingly not popular.
You should have researched Epic Game Store more: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/about
1. Epics revenue cut is 12% (Steam is 30%, Discord is 10%)
2. You don't have to pay the 5% royalty fee for Unreal games if you put it on Epic Games Store.
3. There are free(all the way) capable game engines out there. e.g. Godot.
As someone making a game with GMS1 am I able to still post it to say… Gamejolt and make money from there or do I need a license? This is really just to confirm that I don't, but don't want to assume.
