  • This song is purely nostalgic for me… It's so wild how a song can just instantly take you back in time.

  • I'll say all three albums are the sequel.
In My Head Is An Animal, a person is a fighting a war with his mind or else and since the last track is yellow light/sinking man. it tries to say that now, the depression/sorrow has eaten him and he give up and tries to push people away!
In Beneath The Skin, he's suffering the loneliness and he battles himself. As the first track's line like "I know I'll wither so peel away the bark" which means that he knows that he'll fail no matter how hard he tries and gradually, he tries to fight it like in Human, he tries to be himself but in the last track "We Sink", he realises that its all worthless to try to change the thing which cannot be changed as the song closes with "I know that its a waste of time" so, the only way to get back is to embrace the vulnerability and accept the truth.
The third album is based on that. Starts with Alligator in which he's tries to get over that trauma as said in its chorus "Wake me up, I'm fever dreaming" and Fever dream is a negative term for nightmare if google and studied. Then, from Vulture,Vulture , he feels like invisible hands (refering to his mind and hopes) pulling him out of dirt but fails to do so. In Stuck in Gravity, he craves for some bravery to get back and fight again and in the outro , 'Head is still an animal' is referred to the point that he's still the same naive and weak person like he was in the beginning and in 'Wars' , he convinces that the things will go like this and this won't change and in "Under the Dome", he thinks that it is over and he's ready to accept the truth. The final track "Soothsayer" might be referral to the memories which are calling him out and Nanna's vocals properly justify that Nanna (Memories) are trying to call him out that stay here don't leave me but he manages to escape it.
And I believe that their next work would be related to aftermath of the events after soothsayer that how is he coping up with his issues?
This is all I got from the lyrics

  • Many of their songs ask existential questions about life, love, conflict, and finding meaning. There seems to be lots of pain while chasing after a glimmer of hope and escape. I think there music is reflective of a generation that has had terror thrust upon them by a world going madder every day. There is lots of systemic abandonment and pain but the innate desire to push on and find something better.

  • I remember listening to this song 8 years ago in the car with my girlfriend at the time. It was a rainy night and we were on the way home after eating out. We were fighting at the time and there was a question of where our relationship was headed. After trying to talk it out, we sat in silence for a while, then this song started playing. I instinctively grabbed her hand and held it as she rested her other hand on top of mine. In that moment, without saying a word, as the "lala's" in the song crescendoed to its climax, it felt like everything would be okay between us. We're not together anymore, but for some reason I'm always reminded of that night and that seemingly small, insignificant event whenever I listen to this song, even 8 years later. I guess it just reminds me of a simpler time.
