Scythe vs. 4X Games (Going Analog: Episode 2)

(Warning: contains some explicit language)

In the latest Going Analog, we review Scythe, one of the most-hyped and highest-rated board games of 2016. It’s 4X (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate) like a very light Civilization (the PC game) only with mechs and some pretty amazing art.

Then Seanbaby answers reader mail as only Seanbaby knows how.

Two apologies:

1. Sorry for the long delay since the last episode. We moved, had a death in the family, and got very bogged down with real life. Thanks to our friends volunteering their time to help the show, we’re slowly getting back on track.

2. Sorry for the bad audio during the main review! We plugged the wrong things into the wrong holes.

  • For inexperienced players red is easier. Knowing how to best use the faction mat and player mat is the key.

  • I can tell this video was in the works for a while, because you guys were able to buy a copy of Scythe easily, and I haven't seen anyone do that in months. Also, Cards Against Humanity deserves every bit of derision Seanbaby can muster for it.
